How long does Intentional Change Coaching take?

The longer you practice and fully participate in a change effort, the more probable the results will be sustainable.  I appreciate a client making a minimum three month commitment to the Inentional Change Coaching process as it gives a chance to demonstrate effectiveness.

What coaching credentials do you possess?

Unfortunately, anyone can call themselves a coach at this time. Presently, there are no standards or requirements for training or certification. Hopefully this will change soon to the benefit of the consumer. I decided to go beyond the traditional coaching certificate program and persue a masters degree.  I have been trained in the Intentional Change Theory, Compassionate Coaching,  Experiential Learning, and Appreciative Coaching through the Masters in Positive Organizational Development and Change from Case Western Reserve University. In addition, I hold a Bachelors degree in Business Administration and have 15 years of experience in the for profit and non profit sector; most in executive leadership.

Do you coach by phone?  Is it effective?

Yes, I coach by phone.  Coaching by phone is remarkably effective.  If you reside in NE Ohio or NW Pennsylvania, face-to-face coaching is available as well.

Many large companies and professional coaches are now using telephone bridge formats for coaching, training and team collaboration. When facilitated well, the results can be as outstanding for groups as for private coaching conversations.

You will need to call in from a location free from noise and distractions, and to be able to use a mute button if background noises occur.

How is Intentional Change Coaching different from counseling and psychotherapy?

Intentional Change Coaching deals with the present and future. It does not examine the past but instead creates your future. The Intentional Change Coaching I provide is therapeutic, but it is not therapy. Counseling and psychotherapy usually deal with problems and healing. It entails working with the past as well as the present.  Also, Intentional Change Coaching is not considered a mental health service per se and is therefore not covered by health insurance.

Does Intetnional Change Coaching focus on work or personal issues?

The Intenitonal Change Coaching that I provide is very holistic in that the person's entire life. Different parts of people's lives that might be worked on are: career, business, health/wellness, money, spiritual development, home, family, friends, fun/recreation, etc. Coaching helps you bring balance and satisfaction to all of the various parts of your life.

Is Intentional Change Coaching just about action and doing?

Absolutely NOT!

Intentional Change Coaching is about growing and learning; it’s about sustainable transformation.  It is about being all you can be, to coin a phrase. It's about evolving, learning and transforming sustainably….and enjoying the process. That being said, it certainly involves planning, action and accountability.

Sometimes negative tapes or messages get in the way of action or making changes.  My practice is based on moving you from the negative, deficit based thinking into a more generative, positive conversation.  I am successful at moving people where they want to go based on their own agenda and what is important to them.
